Learning The Benefits Of Teen Abstinence

Abstinence is better than contraceptives. It saves us from the shame of unwanted pregnancy, getting involved with abusive partners and the pain of gaining a bad reputation particularly for ladies. However due to the changing times such value has often been regarded as a myth. Although aware of the benefits of teen abstinence, most teenagers today are too promiscuous to understand that having sex before marriage is not hip.

There are various reasons why some lose their virginity in such a young age. Some are mandated by tradition while others are just too illiterate to understand its consequences. Surprisingly there are some who roots from being sexually abused. Disappointingly the largest part of these sexually active teens is just too curious to try it out.

Teenagers particularly girls should know better than to take it off. Evidently one night of pleasure can lead to a lifetime of regrets. Your body is your temple thus you should be responsible in caring for it. You would rather listen to these words of wisdom than to find yourself physically and mentally abused in the future.

Despite the use of contraceptives, unwanted pregnancy can still happen. Most girls who get pregnant in such an early stage tend to experience rejection and disappointment often leading to miscarriage or abortion. Unfortunately this can affect reproductive health often resulting to infertility and higher chances of cervical cancer in the future.

Most teenage marriage on the other hand often leads to divorce resulting from battery or the incapacity to provide. Evidently these kids are too young to handle parental responsibilities. They still lack skills and knowledge disabling them to attain high paying jobs that can support their families. Such unfortunate event often results to arguments, disappointments and even physical abuse.

This can be frustrating for a teenager. However if one has adult supervision he will unlikely fall for the temptation. Parents should know better than to leave the kids unattended. Not because they are big enough to feed themselves alone means they are wise enough to deal with the issues of society. We all need to be guided sometimes. Finding a way to reach out to them will help them develop self-confidence and would be emotionally sturdy to face immature actions and peer pressure.

Society should be more aggressive in protecting its youth. It should be more proactive in protecting them from themselves. Promiscuity is irreversible. It is disadvantageous for them. It is our responsibility to remind them that with sex comes great responsibility. They should know better than to have one night of pleasure.
